Centralia Police say both drivers were injured in a head-on crash on East McCord Street at Edgewood Lane on the east side of Centralia Tuesday afternoon.
Police report a car driven by 32-year-old Heather Marcum of East 4th in Centralia was westbound in the eastbound lane when she collided with an eastbound pickup truck driven by 87-year-old Delmar Church of South College in Salem.
Both drivers were taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment.
Marcum was ticketed for driving under the influence, improper lane usage, possession of adult-use cannabis, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was given a notice to appear in court.
Mt. Vernon City Fire and Lifestar Ambulance were both called to the scene. Mt. Vernon Fire was covering calls for the Centralia Fire Department at the time due to the funeral of retired chief Mike Kracht.
The crash was reported at 1:18 Tuesday afternoon.
