Salem Firemen were called to two Easter Day fires.
The first was a brush fire that burned about an acre of ground owned by Citation Oil Company near Telford Tire north of the Selmaville North School. The fire was mostly in tall grass. The cause has not been determined. There were no buildings nearby and four oilfield well heads were not damaged. The fire call came in at 1:30 Sunday afternoon. Firemen were on the scene for about 30 minutes.
Firemen were called to a dirt bike fire at Salem Mobile Home Park at 7:53 Sunday night. The fire was out on their arrival. The fire is believed to have been started by a fuel leak. A mobile home was nearby, but not impacted by the fire.
