The Salem Community High School Green Team will once again hold its annual electronic recycling drive on Friday, April 21st.

The drive will once again be held in the rear parking lot of the school near the ag shop from eight am to noon.

Green Team sponsor Drew Johnson says this is the tenth year for the recycling drive that collects tons of no longer wanted electronic items each year.  Last year, 21 pallets of recyclables were collected.   The event is held on the Friday closest to Earth Day each year.

Johnson says once again this year they will not be able to accept old style computer monitors and TVs that have CRT tubes.  He reports they will also not be able to accept thermostats and smoke detectors that contain materials that cannot be recycled.

Johnson says they are working with a new recycling company this year, Didion Orf Recycling of St. Peters, Missouri.
