Centralia Police are investigate shootings incidents last Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, police say they received several 911 calls about shots fired in the 200 block of North Lincoln.  Officers responded and spoke to witnesses in the area.  A short time later, police received a call from a victim stating their vehicle was shot.   The vehicle was processed by the Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit.  The vehicle owner’s son who was driving the vehicle at the time of the shooting has refused to cooperate with police.

On Sunday, the police department received several 911 calls about shots fired in the area of 5th and Elm.  Officers responded to the area and were able to locate evidence of a shooting.  Police talked to several persons, but unfortunately no one has come forward providing information about the shooting.

On Monday, police received a call from a resident in the 400 block of South Sycamore stating they discovered a bullet hole in their residence.  The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit was contacted and processed the house.  Centralia Police Detectives determined the house was in direct sight of where evidence was recovered from the 5th and Elm Street shooting on Sunday night.

Centralia Police are asking the public for help with any information about the shootings.  You are urged to contact Centralia Police investigations at 618-533-7608.
