The Centralia Area Easter Egg Hunt will be held for the 13th year at the Wamac City Park at one Sunday afternoon.

Wamac Mayor Butch Mathis says kids can begin registering at noon on Sunday.

“We have around 15,000 eggs and 700 gift bags and baskets to give out to the kids.  Lots of wonderful bikes, Easter baskets, toys and prizes to give away in a drawing.”

Mathis says there will be three age groups:  six months to four years of age, 5 to 8, and 9 to 12.  Each kid will receive a goody bag and a prize ticket when entering the park.   The drawing for prizes will follow the hunt.

Mathis is thanking the large number of businesses, organizations, and individuals for their donations of bicycles, toys, Easter Baskets, and cash for the drawing.   He’s also appreciative of the work of the Wamac city staff for helping him organize the annual event.
