The National Weather Service says another storm system will bring the threat for severe weather Tuesday night.
Large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes are possible. The potential for severe weather exists across the entire area. However, at this time greatest threat appears to be in central/northeast Missouri and west central Illinois, as well as parts of southeast Missouri Tuesday evening through the overnight hours. Right now, all of South Central Illinois is in the slight risk category.
The trend has been slower, but there is increasing confidence that there will be enough instability (energy) available for at least scattered severe storms. There remains some uncertainty how widespread the severe weather will be across the area.
