The dormant West Whitaker Street improvement project is now scheduled for completion.
Guinzey Construction of Ashley shut down the project late last year due to winter conditions.
Public Works Director Annette Sola updated the timetable.
“They will start on April 3rd. The plan is right now the project will be completed by May 15th, weather permitting.”
Sola says the contractor on the replacement of the South Broadway waterline project from Main to near Schutt Sports has moved up the start of the project and is now scheduled to begin next Monday. She admits this summer will be crazy was the waterline replacement at the same time more traffic is expected on Route 37 due to the construction work on I-57.
Sola says another project has moved back. She reports the curb and gutter repairs on parts of Woodland and Hawthorne Estates have been delayed until the ground dries out. Sola says doing the work now would create a mess.
