A 24-year-old Centralia woman has been arrested for allegedly intentionally running over another person.
Elizabeth McLaughlin was formally charged in Marion County Court on Wednesday for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and leaving the scene of an accident. The deadly weapon was her car.
Judge Mark Stedelin set bond at $5,000 and appointed the public defender to represent her.
Reports indicate the alleged victim, 32-year-old Aimee Aud of the 500 block of South Sycamore, was standing in front of McLaughlin’s car outside her home when McLaughlin alleged ran over her and left the scene. The two had apparently been involved in an earlier disagreement.
Aud was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital via private vehicle for treatment of leg and foot injuries.
The incident occurred around four pm. McLaughlin turn herself in at the Centralia Police station a few hours later.
