Police Beat for Monday, March 6th, 2023

A 32-year-old Shobonier man has been arrested on three outstanding warrants by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies.   Patrick Marble of US 51 is being held in the Marion County Jail on a no-bond Florida warrant as well as a Fayette County misdemeanor theft warrant and an Effingham County misdemeanor criminal damage to property warrant.  The bond on the Fayette County warrant is set at $3,000.  The bond on the Effingham County warrant is set at $5,000.

24-year-old Shelby Futch of Kell Street in Salem was arrested by Salem Police on an outstanding Fayette County traffic warrant.  She posted $350 bond and was released from the Marion County Jail.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department dropped a chase of a pickup clocked at running the stop sign on Route 37 at Route 161 at 111 miles per hour early Sunday morning.   The pursuit began on Route 37 south of Salem when the vehicle was clocked traveling 93 miles per hour while a deputy was running radar.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department also handled two downed trees.  A tree with an 18-inch diameter fell onto Marshall Creek Road in the bottoms north of Odin.  Another tree fell across the Bottom Road near the Seedhouse Road intersections   The tree were both removed so traffic flow could continue.
