Two Centralia men have been charged in Marion County Court with attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools.
31-year-old Stephen Bryant, who told authorities he was homeless, and 41-year-old Christopher Frakes of West Broadway were both arrested when a burglary to an outbuilding at Green Street and Brick Hill Road in rural Central City was broken up in progress Thursday night.
Central City Police originally received the report of the attempted burglary and called Centralia Police for assistance. They then held the two at gunpoint until Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived.
The court charge said the two had a pry bar in their possession that was suitable for breaking into a building.
Bryant is eligible for an extended term sentence if found guilty due to a past Marion County felony convention. His bond was set at $50,000 and a public defender was appointed to represent him.
Frakes had a bond set at $25,000 and a public defender appointed to represent him.
