A 60-year-old Breese man has died in a two-vehicle crash on US 50 between O’Fallon and Lebanon Thursday morning.
The victim, Keith Van Ness of North 11th Street, was pronounced dead on the scene by the St. Clair County Coroner’s office.
Initial information from State Police indicates that Ness was driving eastbound when for an unknown reason he went into the westbound lane where he sideswiped an oncoming vehicle. Both vehicles then left the roadway. The other driver was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, but the driver’s name has not been released.
The crash occurred at 6:39 Thursday morning.
