Marion County Health Department Administrator Melissa Mallow says the county went another week without a COVID-19 related death. She reports as of Thursday, four Marion County congregate care facilities were in outbreak status. One facility had 32 positives, another 20, a third 7 and a four 3 positive cases.
The CDC COVID-19 tracker reports for the week ending Thursday, Marion County remained in the low infection category but the number of cases increased by 41 percent to 62. There were four admissions.
Clinton, Jefferson, Fayette, and Wayne Counties are all in the medium spread category while Clay County moved into the high category. Washington County is with Marion County in the low category.
Clinton County saw a 38-percent increase in COVID-19 during the past week to 58 cases. There were five new hospital admissions.
Jefferson County had 71 new cases, a three percent increase, and six new admissions.
Washington County had 18 new cases and one new hospitalization.
Fayette County had 50 new cases, a nine percent increase, and two new hospitalizations.
Wayne County had 31 new cases and three new hospitalizations.
Clay County had 41 new cases, a 23-percent decline, and three new hospitalizations.
