A Centralia home received minor damage in a fire believed to have started in the electrical wiring on Friday.

Centralia City Firemen say the Sergio Mendez family of the 700 block of North Beech called the fire department and exited the home after seeing light smoke coming out of the attic.

Firemen entered the home and saw fire coming through the ceiling in the hallway.  They were able to pull the ceiling down and extinguish the blaze from inside the home.

The fire was confined to a small area.  Electric was turned off until repairs could be made.

There were no injuries.

All available Centralia City Firemen were called to the scene along with the Centralia Fire Protection District.

The fire was reported at 8:35 Friday morning, with firemen on the scene for about an hour and
