The Salem City Council Monday night will be asked to give final approval to its property tax levy for next year’s bills. The proposal is to raise the levy 2.85-percent above last year’s levy. The council will once again abate general obligation bond issues that are being paid off through proceeds from sales tax revenue.
Representatives of Kane Insurance will present an outline of the renewal of the Worker’s Compensation and Liability Insurance plan through ICRMT. City Manager Rex Barbee is recommending approval of the renewal.
Mayor Nic Farley is seeking council approval of his appointment of Myron Lloyd to the Salem Historical Commission.
The meeting begins at six Monday night at Salem City Hall.
