A 20-year-old Salem woman was found with only minor injuries at her home following an early Monday morning crash on Green Street Road just north of Lake Shore Drive southwest of Salem.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department received a third-party call of a smashed-up car overturned in the roadside ditch. The caller feared someone was still inside and couldn’t get out due to the amount of damage.
When emergency help arrived, they discovered the passenger side door open, and blood inside the car, but no one around.
After tracing the name of the registered owner through the license plate, Salem Police was asked to try and locate Lindsey Keen of Shingle Oak Drive. She was eventually found at her home. Salem Police say Keen declined hospital treatment for her injuries.
Keen was ticketed by sheriff’s deputies for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, no insurance, and driving on a suspended license.
The sheriff’s department report on the crash is not yet complete, so information is unavailable on how the crash occurred.
The Salem Fire Protection District and United Medical Response were also called to the scene after the call from the concerned passerby at 2:17 Monday morning.
