A 51-year-old Salem man has been charged with two sex offender registration violations.

Bradley Gibson of North Jackson was charged with failure to register as a sex offender for failing to notify Salem Police within three days of a temporary residence.  The second count accuses him of unlawfully residing near a playground.  The charge claims Gibson was living within 100 feet of Jackson Park on North Miller Street.

Gibson was released on his own recognizance bond with the understanding he would follow all sex offender registration guidelines.

A public defender was appointed to represent him.

A preliminary hearing was set for December 20th.
