The Selmaville Varsity Lady Rockets are the SIJHSAA Class S Cross Country Champions. The team took 1st place with 89 points followed by Lick Creek, Pickneyville 204, and NCOE. The Lady Rockets were led by Shelby Johnson (11th), Gabby Harper (15th), Karmen Murray (16th), Carly Veach (20th), Kenna Benjamin (27th), Gia Ward (74th), and Alana Howe (76th).
Selmaville also had an individual Varsity boy runner, Noah Gaston who medaled in 40th place. The Selmaville Running Rockets are coached by Dawn Jayne and Katie Rau.
The Woodlawn Girls were 12th overall with Zelena Koch leading the way finishing 32nd. Individually for New Horizon Centralia, Adaliegth Donoho was 12th and Sydney Carr 90th, Sienna Feig from Central City 102nd, Jordy Hayes of Field 51st, Raccoon’s Kylee Hall 76th and Emma Burris from Rome 31st.
Lick Creek’s Jadyn Geradi was the individual champ in 11:02 followed by Kinley Leek of Jonesboro and Jessi Baggett of Pinckneyville 204.
