Salem junior Jairen Stroud finished 44th at the 2a State Golf Finals. He shot 76 day one followed by an 83 on Saturday. It was Stroud’s first trip to state and coach Jason Harris is excited about the improvement in his overall game and expects big things out of him next fall.
Saint Ignatius Prep won the state title with a 603 followed by Benton 2nd with a 606 and Lisle Benet Academy was 3rd with a 620. Benton’s River Stilley was 3rd overall with a 144 and teammate Cy Norman was 5th with a 146.
St Anthony is the 1a state champion shooting a team score of 618, Latin was 2nd at 623 and IC Catholic 3rd with a 630. Christ Our Rock junior Parker Boehne was 3rd overall shooting 73 Friday and a 76 on Saturday for a 149 total, one shot back of state champ Joey Trupiano of St Anthony and Tug Schwab of Litchfield. Nashville’s Parker Renken was 7th shooting 76/76 on the weekend.
