A 20-year-old Farina man was formally charged in Marion County Court on Wednesday with non-consensual dissemination of private sexual images.
The charge states Diego Barradas of South Walnut disseminated a photo of a person over 18 received under circumstances a reasonable person would understand should remain private and would not receive consent to disseminate.
Bond was set at $5,000. If released he was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim, her residence or place of employment. The public defender was appointed to represent him.
If found guilty of the Class 4 felony, Barradas is eligible for an extended sentence due to a prior conviction.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has also announced they have received a search warrant for Barradas’ phone which has been sent to a lab to determine if any other images are present.
The sheriff’s department reports Barradas could face an additional charge in Fayette County as he allegedly tried to run after being questioned about the phone images while at a location in Farina.
