Salem Police have arrested a 31-year-old Salem man for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.
Jerry Summers of South Franklin is accused of committing an act of sexual conduct with an eight-year-old child who had been placed in his home between August and December 2020.
The report was made to DCFS after the child was no longer in the home and the Salem Police Department was notified by DCFS.
Summers was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.
