The brackets are set and the SIJHSAA State Baseball and Softball Tournaments will open up Saturday.
The Class L Baseball Tournament will be played at Rotary Field in Centralia. The day opens up at 10am with Carterville and Millstadt followed at 11 by Flora and O’Fallon Fulton. Then at 12 it’s DuQuoin and Highland with the Franklin Park Bobcats taking their 20-5 record to the 1pm game against undefeated Harrisburg. The semifinals will be Tuesday, October 4th with the trophy games that Thursday.
In Class M, the day begins at 9:30 with Sesser Valier taking on Nashville followed by Hardin County and Albion at 11:30. Johnston City and Smithton play at 1:30 and St James takes on Marissa at 3:30.
In Class S, 9:30 will see Our Lady of Mount Carmel taking on St John’s Lutheran Red Bud followed at 11:30 with Holy Childhood Mascoutah playing St Joe Olney. Lick Creek and Galatia will play at 1:30 with Altamont Lutheran and Woodlawn at 3:30.
In Class L softball at Rotary Field Saturday morning at 10 it will be DuQuoin and Mascoutah followed by Marion and Franklin Park at 11. State favorite Carterville opens up at noon against Waterloo and Mt Carmel takes on Wolf Branch at 1.
In Class M at 9:30 it’s Johnston City and Sparta Lincoln followed at 11:30 by Smithton and Breese, Pinckneyville and Nashville play at 1:30 and at 3:30 it’s Goreville and Albion.
In Class S at 9:30 it’s Jonesboro taking on Crab Orchard followed by Woodlawn and Trinity-St Mary at 11:30. Elverado and St John Catholic Red Bud play at 1:30 and Okawville plays West Salem at 3:30.
