Salem grad Riley Martin was part of the South Bend Cubs Midwest League Championship won on Wednesday. The left hander was told during the celebration that he would be promoted to AA Tennessee who was also playing in their playoffs. Although he did not appear in the Division Championship, he did appear in game 1 of the League Championship last night. He was called in the 5th inning with 1 out and men on the corners jam. Martin got out of it and threw another scoreless inning in the 6th that put him in line to earn the win as the Smokies are now up 1 game to none.
