Franklin Park Breaks Regional Title Drought, Selmaville Into Finals Against Defenders – JH Softball

Franklin Park Wins 1st Softball Regional In 19 Years

For the first time in 19 years the Franklin Park Lady Bobcats won their softball regional title as they beat Centralia at Rotary Field 11-1.  They will advance to next week’s Class L State Tournament also held in Centralia.


Selmaville & Trinity/St Mary’s Into Class S Regional Finals

Selmaville knocked off Patoka 14-5 in their softball regional semifinal.  Kaolin Lewis had 2 hits with 2 RBI and 3 runs scored.  Samara Simmons added 2 hits and drove in 3, Shelby Johnson had 2 hits and scored.  Keira Meredith scattered 3 hits striking out 13.  She also earned her 13th win of the season, breaking Lauren Burge’s school record as she added to her school single season strikeout record and now is at 203 on the season.  Selmaville is 14-6 and will play Hoffman Trinity/St Mary at 4:30 Monday in the title game at Christ Our Rock.

The Defenders beat Raccoon 11-1 to advance.  Emrie Quick struck out 10 in five innings.  Rylie Neuhaus led the offense with a home run and 2 RBI.  Quick had a double and drove in a pair.
