A 43-year-old Centralia woman was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for treatment of injuries following a single vehicle crash on Green Street Road just south of the Scout Road intersection late Wednesday night.
Preliminary information from the Marion County Sheriff’s Department indicates Amber Juday of Bond Street apparently ran off the side of pavement and when her pickup truck came back on the road it overturned on its top. Juday was pinned in the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Salem Fire Protection District. She was initially taken to Salem Township Hospital by United Medical Response and then airlifted to the St. Louis hospital.
Juday was alone in the vehicle at the time of the crash which was reported at 10:20 Wednesday evening. Salem firemen report there had just been a rainstorm in the area which may have caused the road to become slick.
