The Franklin Park Bobcats take on top-seed Wesclin today for the Class L Region 8 championship. Salem lost a 9-inning thriller in the matchup against the Tigers earlier this season. Game time is at 4:15 at Rotary Field in Salem.
In other Class L championships today Harrisburg will host Marion at 5pm with that winner taking on the Salem/Wesclin winner in the opening round of State next week at Rotary Field. Carterville will take on Murphysboro in Herrin for Region 2. Region 4 opens up with Flora and Mt Carmel playing from Carmi at 2 followed by Olney and Carmi at 3:30. Waterloo and Milstadt play at Waterloo for the Region 5 title. In Region 6 at O’Fallon Fulton, the hosts take on Carriel
In Class M semifinals Nashville will take on Carlyle in Nashville while Central City hosts Rome.
In Class S baseball regional semifinals today Altamont Lutheran will host Iuka at 5:30 while Selmaville takes on Odin/Patoka at the Little League Complex at 4:30.
Also in Class S semifinals, Woodlawn takes on Field while Opdyke Belle Rive plays Trinity-St Mary.
