Centralia Mayor Bryan Kuder has announced he will seek re-election in the municipal election next April.
Kuder is currently serving a two-year term after his first election for a full term four years ago was vacated by the Centralia City Council over a residency issue.
“Right now the city has a lot of momentum with a lot of projects going on to include the city water treatment plant, revitalization of downtown, and other projects over the past year and a half that we have excelled at, me and the council. We are continually moving forward and I just want to see a lot of the stuff that I started be completed and that’s why I decided to run again.”
Kuder says while a lot still needs to be done on plans and funding for the new water treatment plant, he’s hopeful of seeing construction actually begin in the next year or two.
Nominating petitions for Mayor and two open Centralia City Council seats currently held by Robert ‘Spanky’ Smith and Blake Griffin are currently available from City Clerk Kim Enke. Petitions need to be filed in late November.
