A 21-year-old Odin man has been released on five-thousand dollars personal recognizance bond after being charged in Marion County Court with aggravated battery to a 15-year-old Salem juvenile boy in Bryan Memorial Park in Salem.

In the probable cause statement, States Attorney Tim Hudspeth said Marion Eagan is accused of pulling the 15-year-old off his bike and then chasing the juvenile to the edge of the park at Broadway and Boone.   At that point, the juvenile reportedly put his arms up, but Eagan is accused of knocking him to the ground and then striking him three to four times in the head.

When Salem Police arrived, the juvenile was sitting on the curb of the street.    He did not require hospital treatment.

Eagan told police the juvenile attempted to jump him and his friend first.

If released on bond, Eagan was told to have no contact with the victim.   The public defender was appointed to represent him.
