The threat of rain didn’t keep people away from Kinmundy’s Labor Day Activities.

The South Central FFA had 33 runners participate in their 5K run which returned for the first time in several years.  102 vehicles entered the FFA car show in the park, with Tom Brough repeating as the winner of the Best of Show Award with a different car than he showed last year.

Tom Brough shows off his car which allowed him to be the repeat Best of Show champion of the car show.

FFA Advisor TJ Bolin says he wasn’t sure what to expect with the weather.

“I was very surprised, but it was kind of one of those things that there were a number of moving parts to the day and we’re glad we made the decision to keep it going and was pleased with the turnout.”

Bolin was especially impressed that several traveled more than 100 miles to attend.

Bolin says both the 5K run and the car show are a chance for the FFA to give back to the community while also making a small amount of money for their program.

A parade featuring a number of fire trucks, fair queens, horses, some of the car show entries as well as those representing several organizations and businesses participated.

There were also vendors and games for the kids in the Kinmundy park prior to the parade.

We’ll be adding more results as they become available.
