The Centralia Summer Market drew a large crowd to the expanded second-year event.
Centralia Mayor Bryan Kuder was at Centralia City Hall at the center of the activity.
“It went absolutely great. We had a ton of vendors, we had a lot of food vendors and a lot of craft vendors. The people who showed up today at one point it was elbow to elbow down both streets. There was a huge turnout. I sat out here in front of city hall talking to people all day and they said ‘this is great, this is what Centralia needs to get back to bringing people downtown and gatherings such as this with people to show their crafts, their wares, and their food'”
Kuder says with requests for more vendors to participate next year he anticipates the size of the event to grow again. After starting its first year just on the 100 block of South Locust Street, it expanded to the 100 and 200 blocks of East Broadway this year.
Kuder gives credit to his wife Christy and Mimi Hawkins of the City Hall Staff for once again putting together the event.
