ST. LOUIS (AP) — Paul Goldschmidt hit his 300th career homer and drove in three runs, Albert Pujols reached another milestone and the St. Louis Cardinals beat the Cincinnati Reds 11-3. Goldschmidt’s two-run homer in the second inning was his 20th this season and first since June 27. Now in his 12th major league season and a seven-time All-Star, the 34-year-old Goldschmidt became the 153rd player to reach 300 homers. He has 997 RBIs. The 42-year-old Pujols scored twice. He tied Hall of Famer Lou Gehrig for 12th place all-time with 1,889 runs scored.

CHICAGO (AP) — Pete Alonso was hit by a bases-loaded pitch from Mychal Givens in the 10th inning, and the New York Mets beat the Chicago Cubs 4-3 to complete a doubleheader sweep. Led by Alonso and Eduardo Escobar, New York stretched its win streak to four in a row and moved 24 games over .500 for the first time since it was 92-58 on Sept. 19, 2006. It also increased its NL East lead to 2 1/2 games over second-place Atlanta. The lowly Cubs have dropped nine in a row for their worst slide since they lost 10 straight in June. Givens was charged with each loss in the doubleheader.

Elsewhere in the MLB:

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Yankees say police are investigating after what appeared to be a drone was spotted flying above right field at Yankee Stadium. NJ.com published video of a flashing green light hovering above the outfield bleacher seats. The report said it was a drone that floated above the park for about 15 minutes during the Yankees’ 14-1 win over the rival Boston Red Sox on Saturday night. The Yankees said they were aware of the report and that NYPD was investigating. The Federal Aviation Administration bans unmanned aircraft from flying over stadiums while games are in progress.

UNDATED (AP) — Houston second baseman Jose Altuve, San Francisco Giants pitcher Carlos Rodón, St. Louis Cardinals third baseman Nolan Arenado and Miami Marlins second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr won’t be playing in Tuesday’s All-Star Game. Altuve was struck on the left knee leading off Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Angels. Cleveland’s Andrés Giménez will start for Altuve and Toronto’s Santiago Espinal will replace Altuve on the AL roster. Dodgers pitcher Tyler Anderson is taking the place of Rodón on the NL roster. It wasn’t immediately clear why Rodón isn’t playing in the All-Star Game. Arenado says he’ll be resting his back. Atlanta’s Austin Riley is taking Arenado’s place. San Diego’s Jake Cronenworth is replacing the injured Chisholm.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Bryan Cranston was hoping to get a hit in the All-Star Celebrity Softball game at Dodger Stadium. Instead, the “Breaking Bad” actor got hit. Cranston was struck in the right shoulder by a line drive off the bat of Grammy Award winner Anthony Ramos as they took batting practice in side-by-side makeshift cages outside the ballpark. The 66-year-old Cranston doubled over for a couple of minutes, then headed to his nearby trailer. The Tony, Emmy, and Olivier award winner later felt well enough to play in the game on the field. He took a called third strike and feigned an argument with the umpire.
