State Representative Charlie Meier.

State Representative Charlie Meier is donating his $2,750 pay raise this year to five nonprofit organizations located in his district.

Meier says lawmakers don’t deserve a pay raise at a time when people are paying more for everything.   He had voted against having a pay increase this year.   Meier feels flawed policies coming from the state and federal governments are to blame for a number of these high prices, particularly energy costs.

Meier donated $550.00 each to Caritas Family Solutions, Community Link, Hoyleton Youth and Family Services, Relevant Pregnancy Options Center, and the Washington County Vocational Workshop.
