The council could once again take up allowing several new types of businesses as special uses in the B-4 Corridor Business District. They include indoor or outdoor commercial entertainment or recreational facilities including theatres, bowling alleys, swimming pools, billiard parlors, etc. The planning commission has already approved the changes.
The council will present a proclamation declaring Monday as Jey’Chys Brown Day as a result of him recently winning a state championship in the shot put and taking third in the discus.
A proclamation will be presented to make June 17th “Random Act of Kindness Day” in Centralia. The council will be asked to allow decorations upon the city-owned property for both the “Random Act of Kindness Day” and to honor inclusiveness during pride month.
Centralia Fire Chief John Lynch will be recognized on his retirement as fire chief after 24 years of service to the city. City Treasurer Bill Agee is being recognized for 35 years of service and street maintenance operator Adam Newcomb for 15 years of service.
