Salem Opens Regionals Tonight At Vandalia Against Teutopolis….SC Opens Defense Of State Title…Mater Dei Upsets Top Ranked Breese Central

The Salem Wildcats had their game at the Vandalia 2a regional moved to tonight.  They will play the 2nd game of the night following Vandalia and Paris at 4pm will be the 6pm first pitch of Salem and TTown in a game you can hear on AM 1350, 92.1 FM and WJBDradio.com.

Also today, Flora will play Robinson at Newton.

Last night, Breese Mater Dei pulled off the upset as they shutout the state’s top-ranked team beating cross-town rival Breese Central 4-0 to advance to the title game against today’s winner of Wesclin and Father McGivney.

Also last night, Columbia beat Staunton 14-4 at Marquette and the hosts fell to Althoff 7-2.  Nashville beat Zeigler at DuQuoin 1-0.

In 1a regional semifinals last night Christ Our Rock was able to advance to the regional title game after a 5-3, 8-inning win.  Omari King singled home 2 runs in the 8th inning to give the Stallions the lead.  Parker Boehnke was the complete game winner going all 8 allowing 9 hits and 3 runs.  Christina Nollman and Myles Pryor added RBI

Louisville also won their regional opener at home beating Cisne 11-0 to improve to 27-6 on the season.  They will advance to Saturday’s finals where they will get the winner from tonight’s semifinal between defending 1a state champion South Central and Red Hill.

Also tonight in 1a, Carlyle hosts Mulberry Grove.
