UNDATED (AP) — The Houston Astros must feel like their 6-8 start this season is a distant memory.
The Astros earned their 11th straight win as Jose Altuve homered on the opening pitch of their 6-1 win at Washington. Yordan Alvarez and Yuli Gurriel also went deep to support Framber Valdez, who allowed one run over 7 2/3 innings for his first victory since April 7.
Houston has allowed just 12 runs while compiling a 0.91 ERA during its winning streak.

— Chase Silseth allowed one hit in six strong innings while becoming the first player from last year’s draft to make his major league debut, leading the Angels to a 2-0 victory against the Athletics. The right-hander finished with four strikeouts and two walks during his 81-pitch outing, and allowed only one runner to reach second base. Elvis Andrus had the A’s only hit off Silseth with a leadoff single in the third.
— Giancarlo Stanton homered in his third consecutive game and Aaron Judge belted his major league-leading 12th home run of the season in the Yankees’ 10-4 assault on the White Sox. After connecting twice and driving in a career-high six runs in Thursday’s 15-7 win, Stanton smacked a two-run drive Friday in the first inning to spark the Yanks to their 19th win in 22 games. Josh Donaldson also homered in his second straight game and drove in three runs,
— The Red Sox earned a 7-1 thumping of the Rangers as Nick Pivetta allowed a run and three hits in a season-long seven innings to win for the first time since August. J.D. Martinez began Boston’s four-run sixth by lining a single that extended his hitting streak to 14 games. Xander Bogaerts went 2-for-5 with two RBI to raise his league-leading average to .347.
— Brandon Lowe tripled twice and Manuel Margot had a tiebreaking single in the eighth inning of the Rays’ 5-2 downing of the Blue Jays. Lowe’s RBI triple capped a three-run eighth as the Rays sent Toronto to its fifth straight loss. Tampa Bay broke a 2-2 tie with three straight hits off starter Kevin Gausman.
— Royce Lewis hit a grand slam for his first big league homer, capping a nine-run fifth inning that pushed the Twins to a 12-8 decision over the Guardians. Byron Buxton, Jorge Polanco and Gary Sánchez also homered for Minnesota, which was shut out twice by the Astros in the Twins’ previous series. Minnesota had gone four games without a home run before Buxton went deep leading off the bottom of the first.
— Miguel Cabrera doubled and homered to help the slumping Tigers beat the Orioles, 4-2. Eduardo Rodriguez pitched 6 2/3 scoreless innings, allowing five hits and walking four as Detroit won for just the second time in 11 games. The Orioles left the bases loaded in each of the last three innings.
— The Mariners pulled out a 2-1 win over the Mets on an RBI single by Ty France in the eighth inning. France is 15 for 30 with runners in scoring position this season, the best among qualified batters and far above his .326 average overall. Seattle rallied after Max Scherzer held them to one run and three hits with six strikeouts over seven innings.
— Ha-Seong Kim hit a three-run homer in the seventh inning off reliever Will Smith to give the Padres a 7-6 lead in an 11-6 victory over the Braves. Wil Myers went deep in the sixth and Trent Grisham’s three-run, pinch-hit double in the ninth capped the scoring. Eric Hosmer poked a two-run single for San Diego.
— The Phillies battered Dodger pitching for the second straight game in a 12-10 victory. Nick Castellanos had a two-run double during the Phillies’ three-run 10th inning. Justin Turner hit a tying two-run homer in the ninth and drove in four runs for the Dodgers.
— Logan Webb scattered three hits over six innings of the Giants’ sixth consecutive win, 8-2 at St. Louis. Webb gave up just one run and improved to 5-1 despite allowing the leadoff batter to reach in five innings. Curt Casali hit his first homer of the season during a five-run burst in the eighth inning.
— The Diamondbacks were 4-3 winners over the Cubs behind Ketel Marte’s three hits and one RBI. Marte had a pair of doubles off Drew Smyly and finished 3 for 4, raising his average to .222. Winning pitcher Zach Davies allowed three runs on four hits with six strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings.
— Jace Peterson walked against Anthony Bender with the bases loaded in the ninth inning to send the Brewers to a 2-1 win at Miami. Milwaukee starter and NL Cy Young Award winner Corbin Burnes allowed one run, five hits while fanning seven in seven innings of a no-decision. Marlins hurler Pablo López struck out a career-high 11 and limited Milwaukee to one run and three hits in his seven-inning outing.
— Hunter Dozier had his first career five-hit game and the Royals broke out of their offensive funk in a 14-10 victory at Colorado. Andrew Benintendi hit a two-run homer and RBI triple hours after winning his salary arbitration case. Ryan O’Hearn also homered, Michael A. Taylor had two RBIs and Bobby Witt Jr. delivered a two-run triple for the Royals
— Mike Moustakas homered twice and Brandon Drury drove in four runs to lead the resurgent Reds to an 8-2 romp over the Pirates. Moustakas hit a solo shot into the right field stands in the fourth inning to break a 2-2 tie and allow Tyler Mahle to win for the first time since Opening Day. Drury hit a two-run shot for Cincinnati, which has won six of eight since a 3-22 start.
