A 30-year-old former St. Peter man faces multiple charges after two high-speed police chases while he was riding his motorcycle.
Brandon Wells, who now resides in Robinson, first fled from Farina Police at speeds up to 135 miles per hour northbound on I-57 from near Farina. They terminated their chase. Wells then came back south after turning around at Edgewood. Wells was spotted by a Marion County Sheriff’s Deputy who was at the Kinlou Road and Route 37 in Kinmundy. He allegedly took off when the deputy attempted a traffic stop. The chase went south on Route 37 to Lowe Road and then Robb Road before he turned into a field road and gave up after the cycle laid over. Wells was not injured.
Wells is being held in the Marion County Jail for aggravated fleeing, no insurance, speeding, and on a Fayette County warrant. Farina Police charged Wells with speeding more than 35 miles per hour over the speed limit and attempting to flee and elude.
The chase began around 3:10 Thursday afternoon.
