A 39-year-old Vernon woman had bond set at $75,000 during her first appearance in Marion County Court on Tuesday in connection with the alleged stabbing of two men last Thursday.

Heidi Wynn was charged with aggravated domestic battery for allegedly stabbing her estranged husband Brian Thompson 7 to 10 times with a knife and aggravated battery for allegedly stabbing his friend, David Worley of Centralia, a single time in the abdomen.

According to the probable cause statement provided by the prosecution, Wynn allegedly stabbed the two after approaching a pickup truck they both occupied in the driveway of Thompson’s home. Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies were able to recover the knife from the vehicle. It is described as a long fish filet knife.

Wynn reportedly admitted to stabbing Thompson, but said she doesn’t remember stabbing Worley. Wynn had just been placed on probation in Marion County last month on a charge of possession of methamphetamine.

The stabbing incident was first reported to Centralia Police when Thompson and Worley arrived at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital for treatment of stab wounds. Both were later transferred by medical helicopter to St. Louis Hospitals for treatment.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department picked up Wynn while she was on the Boone Street overpass on I-57. She reportedly was threatening to jump onto the Interstate before she was removed without further incident. Deputies were told that Wynn was being brought to the Marion County Jail when she changed her mind and got out of the vehicle.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department reported Tuesday that Thompson is believed to have been released from the hospital, while Worley was still undergoing treatment.

Thompson had an order of protection against his estranged wife due to past incidents at the time the stabbing occurred.

If released on bond, Wynn was ordered to have no contact with the victims, residences or places of employment. The Public Defender was appointed to represent her. A preliminary hearing is set for May 10th.
