Salem Police say one person was injured in a three vehicle crash on West Main Street at South Franklin Street late Tuesday afternoon.
Police report a pickup truck driven by a 17-year-old Sandoval male juvenile was westbound when he failed to apply the brake when operating a stick shift and crashed into a car stopped in front of him for a stop light. He struck the rear of a car driven by 63-year-old Paul Polanski of Edgewood Road in Salem. The impact pushed Polanski’s car into one stopped in front of him driven by 23-year-old Kasandra Brown of Red Stripe Road in Salem.
Polanski was taken by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital for treatment of a knee injury. The Sandoval male juvenile reported a minor injury, but declined hospital treatment. He was ticketed by Salem Police for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 3:59 Tuesday afternoon.
