The Marion County Health Department is reporting no new COVID-19 related deaths in the week ending Friday. That keeps the county’s number of COVID-19 related deaths at 211 since the pandemic began.
The health department is reporting five Marion County congregate-care facilities remain in outbreak status. Statewide, the Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting 10,463 new or probable cases over the past week. There were also 272 deaths statewide.
Of Illinois’ total population, 76% has received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose, more than 67% of Illinois’ total population is fully vaccinated, and more than 49% boosted according to data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
