A 37-year-old Salem woman has pleaded guilty to one of two Class Three felony charges of endangering the life or health of a child pending against her.

Jessica Gillis of Selmaville Road admitted to drinking alcohol in the presence of a four-year-old in July 2020 leaving her unable to properly care for the child who was found playing in the middle of the Selmaville Road unsupervised.

Gillis was placed on two years’ probation with alcohol and drug testing and recommended treatment.

Unrelated charges of driving under the influence and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident were dropped as part of the plea.
