A successful end to a dog rescue call for the Odin Fire Department.
Fire Chief Greg Smith says they were called to the 100 block of West Kirkwood Street where a dog was reported stuck on the roof of the home.
The dog apparently had gotten onto the roof through a broken window covered by plastic on the second story of the home. But as firemen put up a ladder to reach the dog, the dog retreated back into the home through the same window it came out.
No one was home at the residence when the fire call came in at 5:10 Saturday night.
