Bond was set at $5,000 for a 26-year-old Centralia man who has been charged in Marion County Court with two counts of battery following one incident and
domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery in another.

Anthony Hernandez of North Hickory Street was arrested by Centralia Police Monday after being spotted riding his bike.

Centralia Police say the first case that Hernandez occurred on December 10th when he was accused of striking his mother in the side of the head at her home. He reportedly took her phone to keep her from calling police. Hernandez’s girlfriend told police she had earlier been grabbed by both hands around the neck and pinned against a large figurine.

In the second incident on December 12th, police responded to a fight at a home in the 300 block of North Walnut. That altercation allegedly began after Hernandez became upset when looking for a missing cell phone. Hernandez allegedly grabbed and shoved a female resident to the ground and then struck a
male resident who tried to break up the altercation.

In the third incident on December 16th, Hernandez allegedly returned to his mother’s house and kicked the front door off its hinges. The court ordered that if Hernandez is able to post bond that he have no contact with the victims. The public defender was appointed to represent him.
