Fire destroyed a track hoe owned by Morton and Sons Farm late Monday morning near the intersection of the Kell and Buchannon Roads in rural Texico.
The track hoe was a half-mile off the road when it caught fire. The cause of the fire is unknown. The track hoe is valued at $35,000.
Salem Firemen provided mutual aid on the scene. Mt. Vernon firemen stood by at the Kell Fire Station in the event of another call.
