A 34-year-old Kinmundy man was arrested for aggravated fleeing and eluding police during a high speed chase that reached speeds of 110 miles per hour in the Kinmundy area Wednesday afternoon.
Marion County Sheriff’s officials say Ryan McCarty of Simmons Road fled when a deputy tried to stop him on the Robb Road. The chase continued on the Brimberry Road to the Kinoka Road. McCarty eventually stopped on his own at the site of the former Kinmundy truck stop east of I-57. He was then taken into custody and to the Marion County Jail without incident.
The deputy had initially tried to stop McCarty because he was wanted on a no bond Washington County warrant for failure to appear on possession of methamphetamine and controlled substance charges.
The chase began at two Wednesday afternoon.
