Bond has been set at $30,000 for a 38-year-old Salem man formally charged in Marion County Court on Thursday with two counts of burglary.

Slade Thompson of West Rogers was charged with a December 24th burglary at the maintenance shed at Salem Community High School and the December 26th burglary at the CSX terminal in the 600 block of South Broadway in Salem.

Salem Police say equipment and tools were stolen.   A pickup truck was also taken from outside the CSX building.  It was found abandoned in Junction City with the catalytic converter cut off.

Salem Police believed Thompson is also involved in a third burglary at a storage location used by Sleep in Heavenly Peace for storage of materials and schools for making beds for children without.

Thompson had the public defender appointed to represent him.  A preliminary hearing is set for February 9th.
