A 26-year-old Evansville, Indiana man has died after losing control of his westbound van on I-64 in Wayne County, crossing the median and ending up in the eastbound lanes where it collided with a semi.
The name of the man pronounced dead on the scene has not been released.
State Police say the driver of the semi he struck head on, 23-year-old Austin Howell of Joliet, refused medical treatment.
The Illinois State Police Traffic Crash Reconstruction Unit is continuing the investigation. The report does not indicate if weather played a role. The crash occurred at 9:27 Thursday morning.
