The Salem Wildcats won the consolation title at the Duster Thomas Hoops Classic beating the short-handed Meridian Bobcats 54-41. The Bobcats were playing without 2 starters and Salem pulled away late to improve their record to 8-7 on the season. Salem was led by Rolan Adams off the bench with 17, Caden Bee finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds and Kaleb Anthony added 10 points for the Wildcats who are off until next week when they head to Mt Vernon to take on the Rams to begin the New Year next Friday.
Olney finished the tournament still unbeaten as they won the championship over the host Panthers 48-42. Murphysboro beat Mt Carmel 59-56 for 3rd place, Steeleville over Carlyle 57-43 in the 5th place game, Benton over Jerseyville 52-32 for 7th place, Greenville earned a forfeit win over Chester for 11th place and Okawville beat Woodlawn in the 15th place game 49-36.
