The Salem Elks Lodge has named its winners in the Elks Grand Lodge Americanism Essay Contest. Fifth through eighth-grade students were asked to express their views on their pride in America.
The winning entries were all from Selmaville Grade School students. Fifth and Sixth Grade winners were Talya Gowler, Emma Tate, and Carly Veach. Seventh and Eighth-grade winners were Zoey Eastin, Morgan Kurwicki, and Abigail Patrick. Those students were submitted by Jamie Williams who heads the social studies department at Selmaville School.
