The Salem Freshmen traveled to Flora last night and came home with a pair of wins. The first game, Salem freshmen beat the sophomores from Flora 40-39. After Flora took a lead in the game’s final 20 seconds on a bucket, Salem got it down and KamRon Hilton hit a baseline jumper with 8s left to give Salem the lead. The Cats defense kept Flora off the scoreboard in the final possession. Lyric Black led Salem with 10, Miking Ettress and Noah Nix had 9 each.
Salem’s freshmen then dominated the first half in their win over the Flora freshmen 31-15 as Salem led 17-5 at the halftime break with Ayden Rose scoring all 14 of his points in the opening 2 quarters. Colton Starnes finished with 6 and Owen Becker added 5. The Salem Freshmen will host Nashville Saturday morning at B.E. Gum.
