The Salem Wildcats return to action tonight when they host former NEC rival Olney to B.E. Gum. Bill and Craig’s Excellent Broadcast will begin around 7:45 on WJBD. Salem is coming off a disappointing home loss Friday night to Columbia and have dropped 3 straight games. Olney comes in undefeated after opening the season with a championship at the Capital Classic, coach Rob Flanagan’s crew have been flying so far this season.
The Salem Freshmen Wildcats improved to 3-2 overall with their 51-35 win at Carlyle. Lyric Black had the hot hand for Salem hitting 3 three’s on his way to a game high 18 points and played great defense. 8 Wildcats scored, Luke Anderson was great on the inside finishing with 9 points. The freshmen will head to Flora tomorrow night.
The 61st annual St Elmo Holiday Tournament will begin tonight. South Central will open tournament play at 6:15 against Mulberry Grove followed at 7:45 with Patoka/Odin against St Elmo/Brownstown.
Wednesday’s games will see Cumberland take on Ramsey and Windsor/Stew Stras against CHBC.
The Wayne City Holiday Tournament continued last night as North Clay routed Grayville 79-34, Cisne over Edwards County 59-55 and Wayne City over Sandoval 86-57. Tonight, Cisne will take on Gallatin County, Crab Orchard and Webber followed at 8:30 by Sandoval and Edwards County.
