South Central boys and girls basketball teams had the opportunity on Saturday to play a game at Hoosier Gym in Knightsville, Indiana…the site of the 1988 classic movie.
The Cougars also came away with an easy victory 67-38 to run their record to 4-3 overall as they beat Oblong/Palestine/Hutsonville. Aidan Dodson once again led the Cougars with 20 points. Spencer Johannes added 14 and Keenin Willshire chipped in with 8. Coach Blake Doehring told WJBD/WSIQ Sports that it is a very cool experience to do one time, and even better when both teams get wins.
And both teams did, as the Lady Cougars opened the day with a 67-38 win over OPH.
Coach Brandon Swartzlander told WJBD/WSIQ that J”when I walked in I immediately went back to the movie followed by the urge to play again. It was just an amazing experience. The National anthem is recorded on an old radio with the quartet singing.”
Laney Webster led SC with 22, Taegan Webster added 14 and Brooklyn Garrett finished with 14.
